RiverCityBMX track is run and maintained
by volunteers. The following is a list of the volunteers needed on Race days.
*Track Preparation: Prior to
gate practice, raking, sweeping, and grooming of the track is required to ensure safe racing.
*Stager: These volunteers keep
order with the racers before they get to the gate. Also assist racers with their proper lane assignments on the gate.
*Starters: These volunteers operate
the starting gate in a safe manner.
*Corner Marshals: These volunteers
notify the starter, by means of a flag, if a racer has wrecked on the track. They also take note of moving violations.
*Scorers: These volunteers simply
write down the numbers from the number plates of the racers in the order as they cross the finish line.
*Announcers: These volunteers
announce the happenings of the race and any special message during the race.
Volunteering is the only way that BMX can and will grow as a community sport here in Columbus,
GA. We would love for everyone to do their part. If you are interested, please
